Now summers here, my car has decided to set the internal heater to full heat.

Wondering how to switch the heater off?

will that sort it or only stop the fan from working.

Will the fuse stop the heater?

Sounds like the heater control valve has gone - fairly common problem on fiestas

It was the circuit board on ours "P" reg, so it may all be different now. It waited until the heights of summer before it went

I had the same problem on an old transit.
It was a pain in summer, I never got round to fixing it though before I got my new van!
Hope that helps 😉

Top Gear test drove that very same P reg and said the heater fan was the only fast thing about the car. 😉

See if you can feel a cable like an inner brake cable going into the heater, under the dash look for the vents each side of the transmission tunnel, sometimes this flap sticks in one position, and its controled by the rotary knob on the dash, also the cable can come loose or be stretched.
Never poke anything sharp into the vents, as you may damage the heater matrix, small radiator.
