Got to be the Class 45 and 46 peaks or the Diesel hydraulic Westerns class 52,s. Power, noise and great looking machines that did the job asked of them. Then for electrics the 81 to 85 series all look similar, but made electric traction fast and quiet for the drivers and travellers, and ousted diesel and steam off a lot of routes.

Thread resurrection time;

Just saw mention on the SVR forum that the Deltic driving experiences are sold out.
Looked at the list of available dates, and there's plenty of opportunity to drive a Western or other classes left. Not cheap though.

50008 "Thunderer" used to go past my secondary school most days - you could hear it coming for quite a while before go to us....
