My mum wants to be my friend on facebook. I'd feel quite rude turning her down but I'm not sure if I want her to see all the drunken pictures of me, I'd also feel a bit wierd about swearing on there knowing she could see her little boy using rude words. Any advice?? BTW, I'm 30.....

Im friends with family on facebook and it gets a bit embarrassing, just ignore her - that's what I did to my mum. She will still love you, she's your mum.

You can set up a 'list' that limits what people see and add her to said list. It'll be a bit obvious when she can't see certain things on your profile e.g. pictures/wall etc. if she has other friends where she can see everything, could just claim it's a glitch though. 😉

also, just to add, if you are 30 you are WAY to old to be posting such a dilettante......

just ignore her like i've done my wife. If I added her i'd just stop using it altogether.

you could just tell her you do things you'd prefer her not to know about

That't what I did with my M-I-L.

Just said it's for keeping in touch with mates and we write things she wouldn't want to see.

My Mum knows what a little bleeder I am already so not worried about her seeing me swearing/drunk (though I do censor my swear words, just seems wrong not to!)

My mate added his M-I-L and everything he writes he gets her little quips, so he can't even get away on his computer, would do my head in!

You should be more concerned about what you might find out about her!
