This little mishap interrupted my drive home along the M77 a couple of years back. Interestingly inconvenienced commuters were quite happy to much in with the clear up, although mindful of health and safety they sensible on helped with bottles that weren't broken
It doesn't look like it's that rare - there's loads of it.
