Anyone got any good/bad tales to tell??
They've got an 08 Vito I'm considering but I seem to remember when they had a branch more local to me their reputation wasn't brilliant.
Any experiences?
I bought my 2nd hand car from the Old-Trafford (Ford) branch and have been back a couple of times for service / workshop work. No real horror stories, just the usual dealer ****lessness:-
Car sale was fine, decent guy I dealt with.
When I've been to browse the second hand cars since they really don't appear too keen or interested in selling (think I've been approached once in 3 visits).
Service - <whinge>they never clean the car and when you point it out they say they will next time - but they still don't<\whinge>
Don't expect anything to be ready when they said it will be (e.g. MOT to be complete for lunch time...I think they started it 30 minutes after the agred pick up time)
They denied responsibility for the only wheel trim I ever lost - this happened on one 20 mile journey home immediately after them fitting new tyres (so obviously not related at all!). They were happy to sell me new trims though.
The latest and greatest is that whilst looking at the unusual tyre-wear on the tyres they fitted I discover that the tyres are asymmetrical and have an 'inside' and 'outside' printed on the sidewalls so you should only see 'outside'...guess which way they put one on (it say 'inside' on the outside)...!!! Apparently it could /should have been an MOT failure if the tester had noticed.
Actually I've been meaning to write to the service manager (perhaps he/she reads Singletrack forum so I won't bother now)
To be honest, if they had the car I wanted at the price I wanted I'd buy it but go elsewhere for service.
Thanks for that fubar.
The salesman I chatted with today at trafford park is called Chris. Seemed like a nice chap. He told me it's their policy to allow people to browse without hassle and not to pressure a possible sale. Sounds like your experiences
