So I've been given a electric roller shutter for free, person said it was 2.6m long, picked it up in the dark and chucked it in the back of the van untestedย
Next day i take it out the van and clearly its shorter then 2.6m, so it wont fit the opening i wanted it for bugger!ย
So decide to sell it on to make some cash to buy another one in the correct length
Thought best to test it first before advertising it, plugged the control box into A plug socket, connected the safety sensor wiring (this is all without the curtain fitted) and pressed the button on the remote
The motor starts to move the main shaft but then one end (the opposite end to where the wiring plugs into and i assume is the main motor) stops and the motor end keeps turning and thus twisting the box section, press the remote again and it goes into reverse, straightens up and then twists the other way
It seems the non motorised end is jamming up, I've checked the limit screws on the motor end, there doesn't seem to be any on the end with the issue
Any ideas before i strip off the end with the issue?
Safety brake in the non motor end, quite often they are inertia driven and have to be set in the correct orientation relative to horizontal, some have some free floating bit inside that wedge in place so need to be the right way up and the reversed back up to unlock.ย
Cheers will check that tomorrow
