Repost.....

Some very naughty person is letting their dog do its doo doos right outside my gate. How naughty of them as I have two small children which could be made very poorly by it.
I wish I could catch them doing it as I would give them a very stern telling off and tell them not to do it again.
Its made me very cross....

Put a sign up with a spare plastic bag for them to use. Action realises the stress.

Could you, perhaps, do something about it?

I have placed a sign at the gate with some bags as suggested. Also a camera pointing at the gate on a 6hr loop.
Some lazy so and so just cant be bothered. Makes me mad as its blatantly a health risk.

Tootall, are you suggesting I should clean it up myself all the time (which I am having to do)
I am trying to solve it by catching whoever is doing it and reporting them to the police / council who will deal with it appropriately

I think the camera might be a bit ott. Have you also put up a sign with informing them they might be on CCTV? The first sign and bag are supposed to be helping them improve their behaviour. What's the camera for? What are you going to do if it's a kid walking his puppy? What if its a thug with a pit bull? What if its a neighbour? I could go on..

clipper.. I am in the same boat as you.. we put up signs on a nearby lamp post..
this morning things escalated when we were greeted outside by a dog turd on our doormat..!

can you believe it..!? how disproportionate is that..!! We've only lived here a year and seem to get on ok with everyone.. there hasn't been time to get on anyone's nerves..

I'm guessing that someone is very passionate about the situation and considers dog poo strewn pavements to be part of their human rights..

we have an active 2.5 year old boy and mrs yunki is due to give birth again any day now..

If I catch the little scrotes responsible they're going to wish they hadn't been born..

I'm having the same trouble, think i've seen the bloke and dog responsible so i'm going to follow them home.
Once located i'm going to eat a nice curry, drink several pints of guinness then go for a late-night stroll... 😉

Next time if could be a child faeces.

Same problem here but I reckon I know who it is but need to catch them, only happened when they moved into the street. And the size of their dogs is a clue.

Yunki, that does seem an escalation. What did your notice say? Dog owners are rarely passionate about poo. May be time for the hidden cameras...

FACT: All dog owners are inconsiderate.

Proviso: Except those who frequent STW, of course.

our notice just said

'please clear up after your dog or you will be reported.. young children live in this street'

and thinking about it.. pretty much every house in the street has young children living in it..

surely it's got to be the work of naughty kids on half term..? the alternative is just a bit too weird and sinister..

Do you live in a street full of neds?

Our street is full of dog eggs. I use it as an opportunity to teach the kids to look where they're going from an early age. The alternative is to start a war with the neds, which I cant be bothered with.

We 'board' other peoples' dogs through a franchise type business (holiday cover sort of thing). Yesterday, a lady arranged to bring her dog round to meet our dog and see the house. We took the dogs out for a quick walk which skirts the edge of a grass football pitch.

Her dog took a massive dump about six feet from the edge of the pitch. She watched then asked, "So do you pick them up here then?" I was gobsmacked and had to supply her with a bag as she doesn't carry any... This is quite an intelligent, well-travelled lady too...

Some of these people don't realise it's a problem.
The notice will hopefully sort it out.

There's an old bloke who walks his dog round the block. It took me a little while to work out it was his dog's shit that was being left in front of our house every day but once I confronted him about it he did look surprised. Don't know whether it had never crossed his mind or not.

Also, don't forget, people never used to pick up dog crap.

you know what.. I think I could probably let it slide (literally) unless I actually happened to see it happening with my own eyes..

but Mrs Yunki is ready to fight the world to the death over the issue

No. Your first post did not even hint at any action from yourself other than post on an internet forum. You have clarified things later.

People are real creatures of habit when walking dogs - morning, evening, same sort of time, mostly the same route. It shouldn't take much time to work it out so you can have a word with them.

On a slightly different note - I came home yesterday to find a large manky chewed dog bed on my lawn. I'm still trying to work out whether someone thought it might be useful for my dogs or it had just been lobbed there ❗
