Evening All..

I know alot of people have had problems in the past, ive used ebay for years and this is the first problem we have had.

Sold a USED pram last week, one like this (older version)...

[img] [/img]

We placed this up for sale on ebay, classed as used, also said the height adjuster was broken but you can still manually adjust it.

The winning bidder was constantly asking questions about it and ended up winning it and even asked further questions AFTER they had won it.

Today the wife had this email....

Hi **** first of all thank you for the stroller but we have a big problem first of all the condition of this item is as you say but not working order.? Yes you told us the height bar was not working but not the frame was twisted after i took it to mothercare today with whom told us of this fault . I understand i am new to ebay and dont understand when some one states a item to be in good working order does that mean it looks ok . I would like to resolve this please as it looks good but is not in good working order and this should of been stated.

The frame was in no way bent and it was in working order... so ...

A - It was smacked in transit and the frame became bent. (it was sent via parcel force).

B - The winning bidder doesn't like it and has made the story up?

She doesn't acutally state what she wants us too do?

So, what do people think we should do.

A- Just leave it, ignore the email and sod them! (the wife doesnt really care if we have negative feedback)

B- Respond and tell them it was in working order and must have been smacked in transit, what do you suggest we do?

C - Respond and say you take a chance with ebay, it WAS in working order must have bene smacked in transit tough sh*t

D - Contact ebay, give them a copy of the email and see what they say?

Cheers for any help pointers...

Monkey

Offer a full refund if they return the stroller, ask for photos, claim against parcel force and try to negotiate a cash settlement with the buyer

Hmmm, I would only buy and sell things like this if collected.

Ask for some photos maybe?

Firstly ask them if there is any noticeable damage to the packaging, if they say that there is not, then ask for photo's of the damage.

Compare there photo's of the damage to the photo's you have if any, does the item have any identifiable marks?

They will get the money back anyway, no point getting negative feedback, you should determine all the relevant info that you can and then look to establish what actually happened.

They could be trying it on, it might have been damaged in transit or you might not have noticed the damage.

Good luck!

If they can prove that the item has damage that was not mentioned in the listing, paypal will simply remove the money from your bank account and refund them.

On top of that if it was me and I notified you of a problem and you refused to help sort it out, I would leave negative feedback to warn other traders.

If you work with them to sort out the problem, it's a lot less likely that this will happen.

Do you have a link to the listing I wouldn't mind having a look at it?

cheers.. this is the auction pasted below..

Quinny Buzz 3 - Rocking Black Stroller
Item condition: Used
Ended: 03 Feb, 201120:36:14 GMT

Quinny Buzz 3 Stroller

NO RESERVE GET YOURSELF A BARGAIN!

Perfect working order

Supplied with

* Rain Hood
* Shopping Basket
* Sheepskin insert
* Quinny Bag

The Quinny is used and the buttons are slightly stiff, if you have not used this type of pram before it can take a little while to get the hang of opening and closing (by that I just mean knowing which side to click and which side to slide!)

There is an instruction video on Utube which I found very useful!!!

The height adjustor does not work from the button, but needs to be altered manually.

Theres life left in the wheels and most parts are easily replacable anyway.

My daughter has simply grown out if.

Any questions please ask!

Please see the other items I am selling.

any questions? Please do not hesitate to contact me

Shirely if it gets "smacked in transit" it's your tough luck for not packing it better and nothing to do with the buyer?

It doesn't matter if you checked "No returns" - from the buyer's point of view it's not as described. You're responsible for damage in transit, refund the buyer on return and take it up with your carrier.

This is all a waste of time as paypal essentially unofficaiily enforcces a version of their own distance sellign regs, the buyer returns the item, proves delivery and paypal simply refunds them. They could return an empty box, they would still get their money back.

I'd offer a refund, on reciept of the buggy, if it's ok, send them it back, if it's borked, chase Parcelforce. We have a Buzz, and can't see how the frame can bend to be fair.

Our is still broken though.

A) will mean you don't have a pram or your money - eBay will just take it from your account and refund the buyer.

B) Fair chance of this. Ask for a detailed photograph of the damage before anything else and make sure it's what you think it is. Email and state it was in good working order (it was, wasn't it, there wasn't any way this was bent?). Get some dialogue going.

C) Equals A - someone did that for some tyres for me, sent a snotty email to me saying buyer beware etc. etc. - I just forwarded it to eBay and raised a claim. Ebay almost always side with the buyer.

D)Ebay don't really care. They'll just see buyer saying it's damaged. Kerching, refund paid by paypal our of your account.

Ask them to return the stroller then you can assess the damage. State you'll refund their postage if you are happy with their assesment. Because their payment would be outside of eBay they won't be able to 'claim it back' if you disagree with the damage - that might put them off trying it on with you.

Oh, and have a word with parcelforce or whoever. They might want to see the packaging so do it now before buyer gets rid of it. To be honest you're cvered for £50, might as well start the ball rolling with the claim regardless.
