Can anybody recommend an eatery that is better than something like a toby carvary but not as expensive as a fine dining restaurant?
I've got to take the whole family out for Christmas which isn't going to me a cheap evening for 9 people.
Taxis to Ambleside and go to dodds. Lovely.

The last decent meal I had in Windermere was at Giotto's
It's probably an 8/10 but not bad value.

but more at the fine dining end of things really.
Bowness an option? The Elleray was great value when we last there, maybe 2 years ago?
EIDT: memory lapse, it would appear the Elleray is in fact in Windermere!
