Anyone know of any art soft ware that will let me draw lines at set angles, to scale regarding length and overlaying 1 drawing onto another. As I am rather narrow minded in my pc use I may even have something already. Why? To draw up line diagrams of bikes I am interested in, showing TT lengths etc. Superimposing them will show relative handle bar positions. Why again ? Because each manufacturer gives dimensions but I am a visual chap and like to look at pics. I am trying to see which 29er/700c frame brings the drop bars nearest to my saddle, both vertically and horizontally and a nice multicoloured drawing would be fun to play with.

could maybe do that in sketchup, if you turn off perspective and change the colour/opacity of each overlay.

Any proper CAD package will do that easily but they can be hard to learn and very expensive. You could try Autosketch, there is a free demo and its pretty simple.

I might still have a copy of AutoCAD knocking about somewhere

I'll try installing it on my new PC and see if I can remember how to use it

I might have used it for 10+ years now, but as I've been out of work for over a year might take me an hour to get back into it! 😐

AutoCAD all the way, really easy to learn the basics which should do exactly what you want.

Bound to be a copy knocking around on the torrents, try before you buy 😉

Thinking Low-Tech, could you not just use some graph paper, a protractor & some different coloured pens?

easy way to do this on bikes with same wheel size is copy the picture from website (hopefully with plain white background) paste into excel and set the background to be transparent, do this with all the bikes and scale them to all have the same size wheels the you can drag on top of one another.
