I got a problem with a blocked drain, it is a clay pipe fed by one of the down pipes from the gutter. I managed to get a draining rod 4m into it but can't get further, I suspect tree roots or a partial collapse.
Does anyone have any experience of getting work like this done by companies with high pressure jetting machines, any recommendations or advice, prices etc.

I worked for a local authority as a vactor unit/jetter operator for nine years.. Don't use Dynarod!! Get a local one man band and start from there, if its collapsed or tree roots then you need to dig it out and replace the broken pipe work,
Don't use Dynarod!...
The place I worked for used to do courtesy visits for people in our area with drainage problems, the amount of people who we met who had been quoted thousands from Dynorod who we visited and sorted in minutes was scandalous..

Speak to your water company first. We found that drains even though on our property are they're responsibility and the job was done free of charge.

Are you sure the drain goes into the main sewer? It may go into a soak away, in which case you may just have found the end. If it does, the options are limited - dig out soakaway and unsilt / reroute drain pipe into another drain.

Drains and sewers in your property boundary that are shared or serve other people are the sewer company responsibility.

Drains and sewers on your property that only serve your house are still your responsibility.

I unblocked mine by digging out all the crap I could and then doing a "DIY" drain jetting using garden hosepipe and working it back and forth to clear the blockage, drains running perfect now

Thanks to all for suggestions, I've contacted water company and they're sending out a choke squad to clear it, here's hoping.
