My wife is incredibly deaf and never hears the loud doorbell. I am looking for a doorbell that will Bluetooth to her phone. All the ones I have seen so far either Bluetooth to bell units or have cameras and other bells and whistles we don’t need. Any suggestions for one which will simply tell her phone that there’s someone at the door?

Can't help other than suggest you'll probably need a smart WiFi door bell of some form and that might be easiest just to go with a camera doorbell and a app rather than just Bluetooth.

i recently bumped an old thread as this is what my mum needed.

we tried a tapo one that didnt work (needed a hardware update apparently), so that went back and i bought her a XTU jobbie.  seemed to be better but shes had her doorframe replaced a couple of days later and the workmen tried prising it off the frame and seem to have mulched it so we may have to get another one.  apparently it should have been removed prior to work but nobody told ma.

ho hum 🙄

Would a visual chime work?  You can get them with flashing lights as well as a bell.

I have a Ring doorbell which sends notifications to my phone.  I couldn't rely on it alone because the lag is huge, a caller would have left by the time I'd got an alert and responded to it.

By turns, Bluetooth has limited range and would need to be 'always on.'  I think what you need is a Wi-Fi solution which doesn't rely on routing alerts via Seattle and instead works locally.  What that might be, I don't know.

We have a Honeywell doorbell that does that.  You can add varioius relays that you stick batteries in or plug into the wall and you can set them to flash as well as ring.  Works quite well and if your house is long or made of lead the relays are super useful.  Be careful though as I think the relays only work with the series 9 stuff (Honeywell Home DW915S Series 9 Portable Doorbell Wireless or Wired with LED White : Amazon.com.be: Tools & Home Improvement)

You could do that with a shelly Mini relay.
Create a scene so that when the bell is pressed it sends an alert to the app on your phone.

I thought so too. I'd forgotten that part of the sketch and when I saw it today I thought it was brilliant.
