dig around for hearsay (hearsay: ?h??se?/ noun - information received from other people which cannot be substantiated; rumour) from an employee in a 1991 book to get a quote that approaches Trump allegedly saying anything actually racist proves my point.

That's my take on all this.

Trump's been in the public eye for decades and been under intense media scrutiny for the last year or so. If he was a Racist, or routinely Sexually Assaulting people or a Nazi the evidence would be overwhelming.

The fact that literally a handful of flimsy one-off stories are the only evidence for this stuff goes some way to demonstrating that he isn't any of those things. (Obviously absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence, but even so.)

I think most people outside the USA would agree that based on what we've seen and heard so far he was an inferior candidate to Hillary, but that's a different (and more useful) debate.

He does seem to be opening himself up to all sorts of problems concerning "conflict of interest"

Didn't realise there was already 386 miles of wall in place

Aye loads of people don't realize that, the amount of walls going up in this world and that know one knows about then saddens me.

"future programs should definitely be placed with other agencies."

How is that "eliminating"?

Well, I'd agree, in lieu of any information it's difficult to say. I could speculate, but I won't, beyond asking... Do you have any confidence that it will be suitably replaced? I don't.

The bigger question is why the need to take it out of NASA's hands? What is political about NASA researching it? Seems extreme to kill good work, just because you disagree with the answers. That would seem, eer, political to me..

Absolutely a fact that race relations have declined under Obama. Black people didn't come out to vote for Hillary at least in part as the Democrats have been a big dissapointment to them. Overall imo this is his biggest failing and so different from what I and many Americans had hoped for. Black Lives Matter (complete with its anti-semitic sideline) is a much Obama's legacy as Iran nuclear deal and the disastrous withdrawl from Iraq.

EDIT: kimbers agreed its quite shocking the US does not officially recird police shootings, I believe it's not even done at a State level. Campaigners do it from newspaper cuttings

Mike I do admire your tenacity as pretty everything you said about how the election would turn out has been proven wrong. Hillary outspent Trump 2:1 and lost, that's extra-ordinary in US politics. The fact Trump is such a flawed candidate but still won easily says all you need to know about Clinton.

Hamas have been speaking on Palastinian TV. Apparently Trump might be Jewish as he loves Jews and money (which is the Jewish religion apparently). For "balance" Abbas is a Jew too according to Hamas.

What data are you using, how is 'race relations' measured?

Only he didn't say that, did he?

Correct! He actually stated that 'Some...are good people.' Clearly not ALL Mexicans are raping hordes of criminals.

He loves 'them'. Like he loves 'The Blacks' (TM)

What it tells you is the general dissatisfaction with politics and the fact there is a lurch to the idiot who promises everything with no real hope of delivering it. latest figures have Hillary winning the popular by 1.7 million and the overall difference between Her and Trump was under 200,000 votes I think.

Whatever I said about the result still doesn't take away the fact that Trump is a liability, a racist, a xenophobe, a hate pedaller and another like the Brexit mob who have promised to earth (often in contradiction) to many groups with no real way to deliver. If you thought the baying crowds who supported him were vocal wait until he doesn't deliver.

As said previously he now has to manage to sort out his conflict of interest and learn to live within the rules.

Kerley primarily around BLM and shootings. The first black President held out so much hope for so many.

poppycock

Black Lives matter has come about because Obama has given voice to African Americans, previously too afraid to speak out against the system.
The back lash against Obama from the dwindling white demographic in America as evidenced by the rise of Breitbart and the alt-right, who are the actual anti-semites (black lives matter criticism of israel is nothing compared to them) has amplified this.
Coupled with technology exposing the realities of an ever more militarised police (and citizens) and how they deal with black people in America.

Just as with the Civil Rights movement in the 60s it is taking protest to draw attention to the situation.

The first black President held out so much hope for so many.

and was shut down by a Rep Congress who did everything the could to stop any policy he had. Such a shame that a very good man was stopped by a backwards and oppressive group who want to preserve the rights of rich old white men to dictate what others should do. See the pics on the other page, not much will change.

"and was shut down by a Rep Congress who did everything the could to stop any policy he had."

You want Congress to give the President free reign to do whatever he wants?

I think these safeguards are going to be very handy.

Yes they can, well done with the selective quoting. The point being you can't blame Obama for the lack of progress. What he achieved in 2 years was significant. It was posted before.

Someone should have told these guys they were too afraid to speak out against the system:

Trump has openly disavowed and condemned them. What more can he do?

Disavowing and condemning them is good and should be applauded.

But you do have to worry when groups like that (and the KKK before them) are "hailing" you as one of their own, even if you say you aren't.

It's interesting watching the fallout from him disavowing them too. Some comments on the Breitbart coverage of the story:

Spencer isn't a nazi. He's an intellectual, far more so than most of the right and all of the left. You're buying into the false media narrative that anyone who sticks up for white interests must want another holocaust.
..
This constant virtue signaling needs to finally end
..
Trump! Enough with the disavowing!!!!
..
Stop the disavowing already! NO MORE!
..
ANOTHER LIAR , LIED TO GET ELECTED. I knew he was always a liberal but I voted for him to STOP the liberal extremist Hillary.
..
Trump is just playing strategic politics with a multitude of PC-Worshipping types ... Just read these 2 articles and you will be able to figure out why he's saying these kinds of PC-sounding-things. It's bcs he needs 51 Senate votes for each of his 1400 nominations, out of a total of 4,000 appointments ...
..
Trump does what he must, we must also.
..
To me, the further "right" we get, the closer to Christ and that's a good thing
..
..the guys doing the Nazi salutes only do so because they don't believe Hitler was as bad as he's been made out to be, and it's part of the agenda to demonise and shame white people into not defending themselves.
..
Mods, you might want to clean the crap off this board before CNN picks it up and uses it as screen shot against Trump.

Just been watching/reading some of the coverage of that Alt-Right video.
Quite a lot of folk in comments seem to have decided that it was a "false flag" operation and that Spencer (and possibly all of alt-right) are government plants 🙄

Also there are, as ever, a scary number of complete nutters out there who have a very tenuous grasp on any reality that I recognise.

UN Ambassador is first woman appointment, daughter of Indian immigrants.

Creationist, ie a religious person ? That's the US for you. I imagine many world leaders are "creationists"

@alpin that's clutching at straws. "Activists" (aka keyboard warriors) not the Clinton Campaign / Democrats ?

People are just going to have to suck it up and get on with dealing with Trump the next President

President Elect Trump.

Who would have thought ya ...

I have to keep watching all the Youtube leading to his victory to understand all that happened ...

I mean he defeated all those candidates, all with such vast political experiences, out from nowhere to be the President Elect.

Woww! Just woww!

Mostly there was a lurch to "not voting" in the Democrat camp.

If you had put a stuffed toy up instead of Hilary, there would have been a landslide.

As one commentator put it, many of the protesters that we have seen have been marching right past the polling station that they didn't use.

I guess part of that problem was that a lot of people are disillusioned with the system and want change.

For some people that change was Trump, but the people who wanted change but definitely didn't want Trump had no one to vote for.

I disagree because Trump showed/give people hope with light at the end of the tunnel while the oppositions were trying to dim the light of the people.

Yes, let's see if he can change things for the better but the process will be slow as the long term rot set in long time ago. People have nothing to loose tbh coz the alternative is being fed to the giant alligators in the swamp.

Trump does give hope to the people who refuse to give in to the alligators in the swamp (that's the Merican description). People believe in him than the alternatives. Look at the alternatives with all their youth, good looks etc ... yet people trusted Trump.

Hope?
The KKK and alt-right supporters he courted certainly had hope

Sadly it wasn't hope but hate that seems to have been his motivator of Thomas Mair today he was convinced of the terrorist murder of MP Jo Cox, he too was motivated by the hatred and lies spread by politicians, this time from the vote leave campaign and he was helped by those same Trump loving white supremacists web sites in the USA.

"Britain first, this is for Britain.
"Britain will always come first.
"We are British independence.
"Make Britain independent."

Is what he shouted as he stabbed her

There's nothing positive in using fear and hate to get votes.

Trump has used the same tactics to win his election, let's hope he doesn't illicit the same response.

Yes, That is the reason people voted for Trump because they see Trump as a person that can better their livelihood after so many years of hardship. Even people in Chicago feel cheated for voting Obama as they felt used.

Goldman Sachs et al. They feed the alligators.

Slightly old information on the naughty boy club.

Well yes, they have $861 billion in assets and 38,400 employees.

I imagine they feed quite a lot of people.

You think Trump is going to shut down Goldman Sachs??
