I've just watched that Cuomo video posted earlier,it's the first time in years that I've had any confidence in a USA politician.
If he's consistently as good as he is in that video the Dems should wheel him out more often.

@jam bo a bit uncalled for. Since TJ had a bit of an enforced break from here he’s been more mindful of alternate views and has been know to shift stance too.

And he's also not nearly such a prolific womaniser as he used to be. 😉

He’s promising to show us things we have never seen before, turns out it’s ventilators, phew.....thought I was about to witness a “Louis CK” moment on live tv. He seems quite upbeat tonight now he is full campaign mode, let’s hope the reporters questions manage to upset him.

Don't think Larry Hogan was too impressed being called out for ordering half a million tests from South Korea. So for days, Trump has been saying testing is 100% down to the governors to sort, but when one gets fed up trying to source tests in the US so imports some, Trump has a go at him?

And then they devote an hour of the briefing describing how the feds are working on sorting the testing supply chain? No wonder everyone is confused.

Trump telling obvious blatant lies and then denying it. Sounds familiar...

Trump said Cuomo is visiting the White House today, wouldn't say why when asked.

Why is the skin around his eyes such a different colour? He looks like a piece of old spam that’s not been cooked properly.

Perhaps cause of those little Goggles used on sunbeds?

He's off again, very pleased with his ratings obviously. Can you imagine any other leader in the world boasting about their pandemic daily briefing ratings? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Whole thing is just about ratings to him obviously. Absolutely no awareness that it's millions of people in disbelief or laughing at what an idiot he is.

It really is quite surreal, isn't it?

I mean, Boris is a complete bell end, but I can't really imagine him taking to social media to point out to the nation, as thousands of people die, that his 5 o'clock press conferences are getting higher viewing figures than Strictly and Countryfile

And they love all this shit and are about to re-elect him

Mericans are absolutely mental, aren't they?

Would that be the same officials that are hijacking any PPE they get to know about and taking it away to a central point?

So much so that governors are using their guardsmen to escort the cargo or sending it around the state in food trucks.

Just read a piece about the Stephen Colbert show, and there’s a great description of Agent Orange at the end, my highlight...

It’s *checks notes* eleventween days into lockdown, and we’re all starting to get, as Stephen Colbert puts it, “a little kooky in the ol’ squirrel cage.” For me, that’s manifesting as a desire to read a lot of murder mysteries. For Colbert, it’s work-drinking and interrogating his teenage son about whether Toni Morrison’s Beloved is funny. For a lot of folks in certain states, it’s glomming onto illogical, heavily astroturfed protests against social distancing measures.

Colbert pointed out one protester in Washington state carrying a sign reading “Give me liberty or give me COVID-19.”

“Buddy, you’re in a large crowd, you’re not wearing a mask, you’re not six feet away from people — you might not need to choose.”

“I get that this is the land of liberty,” Colbert went on, “but these protesters aren’t just putting themselves at risk. The whole reason we are socially distancing in the first place is to prevent the spread of the virus, especially to our older relatives. I mean, there’s a reason the Boston Tea Partiers didn’t throw Nanna in the harbor.”

Colbert also called out Trump’s endorsement of both social distancing measures and the protests, with his now-infamous “LIBERATE” tweets.

“To be clear, Trump is now encouraging people to protest his own recommendations — that’s how much he needs to hear a chanting mob. He’s like Angry Tinkerbell. ‘Quick, kids! Scream LOCK HER UP or I’ll die.’”

#AngryTinkerbell 🤣

I fell off my chair at that.

Colbert's view of Trump on weekdays gives you some hope that all Merkin's aren't utterly moronic. Seth Meyers' Closer Look, too. They cut through the crap and cheerfully point out the lies and contradictions of the Prez

WTF is wrong with these people. Cut your own ****ing hair with the dog clippers you set of self entitled cocks. People are dying and all they care about is having their teeth cleaned. Morons, the lot of them. Don’t know why but this has properly pissed me off.

Would imagine Donald will be doing a bit of arm twisting over trade deal to get us to ease lockdown sooner rather than later

So much of their strategy is still about making it all china- partly for racism obviously but mostly just because it's literally all they did. Disease was already up and running in the US population so banning travel couldn't possibly stop it but even now it's "we banned china".

I believe Minnesota or Michigan, one of those states begins with an ‘M’, anyway, is going to sue China for not taking steps to stop C19 early enough, causing then financial difficulties.
Good luck with that plan, guys!

Yeah, not a chance in hell. It would be funny if the intent behind it wasn't so malignant.

They can't, there is no law that allows it and it will just be thrown out at the first sitting (unless given to a crazy merican political judge)but I would love China to send in a defence tourney who just highlights Trumps many many inactions when he was presented with an opportunity.

I actually need to avoid Trump news now! I woke in the night and was really disturbed by the lockdown protesting! They are protesting lockdown as if it is for punishment, not for protection! How utterly thick can you be?? Are any other countries experiencing protests like that, or is the USA actually the single most stupid nation on this planet?

They remind me of the folk that had that welcome party on top of the skyscraper in Independence Day. Turned out well for them, I think?

No, but it certainly doesn't help that Trump is actively cheering them on!

Something you notice with his daily briefings is there's no 'standing agenda' - his experts don't present a consistent set of stats so you can track progress. This is why I like Cuomo's approach.

We had charts of deaths/thousand population this week (with Trump throwing around accusations about other's numbers). Yesterday both he and Birx stated the US had the lowest mortality (rate?) in the world. No idea how they've decided that.

This is what you get when you indulge your inner asshole and elect an asshole as President in the hope that he'll be an asshole, but only in the way you specifically want.

At least they didn't make their 'national assholery' moment something that can't be reversed after four years. I mean, who'd be stupid enough to do that....🙄

The rioting in the often rioty part of Paris was because a chav got hurt trying to force a motoX bike through a roadblock without a helmet and the rumour spread that he was car-doored by the police.

The disenfranchised youth of the Parisian suburbs love a bit of outrage just as much as good ole gun totin' patriotic muricuns.
