I'm looking to find a decent light to put onto the dogs harness when we're out at night. I take her away up through the woods behind my house, then onto a few miles of clearing for her to run daft for a while. I have tried these cheap led lights on her collar just to keep an eye on her, but tbh they are pish. She loves chasing scents of deer etc, so sometimes she goes a fair distance away, she comes back no bother, it's only for me to see her incase she hurts herself etc..
So anyone recommend a decent light ??

Two of these, zip tied to either side of the collar make for a pretty bright collar light or hazard-to-singletrack-navigation lights 😀

3 of these left right and top clipped onto collar?

Edit: great minds..

I got a neon collar off fleabay. Used a bike light on his harness at first but sometimes it would dangle down the opposite side from where I was so couldn't see him. This mean collar is a bright blue loop all round his neck and you can see it for miles. Was pretty cheap too iirc, he looks like one O'them aliens from Attack the Block... (I'd post a link but on phone)

I used a couple of these on the collar. Can see them an amazing distance away.

The flashing LED collars + florescence straps are the best, that way you can see the dog with the torch

The bike ones either get smashed, or risk throttling the dog as they plough through the undergrowth. Mine went through 3 in a few weeks before I gave up on that idea.

Either that or a thermal camera:

I tried dog lights but they failed when he insisted on winter swimming sessions

mine did that, I saw the flashing light recede into the distance, heard a splash and the lights dim and go out........
