Thinking of getting a 15inch macbook pro from Dixons Travel as soon as they stock the new models.
Has anyone used them to buy something big and expensive? How does it work? Can I assume that the price will be the price on the apple website minus 20% VAT or do they inflate their retail prices before ducting VAT? There are no prices on the dixons travel website.
Thanks,
Tim
Bump. I'm sure I read some people have done this...
Dixons travel are a con imo. They just bump up the prices so they can discount the tax and make themselves look cheap, to capture the bored executives by being the only interesting shop in the concourse.
Online is cheaper and less hassle, usually.
Thanks molgrips, I thought this might be the case. I hate Dixons anyway. ๐
Pretty good IME - a match for Amazon etc, if not a massive saving over them. They discount everything a bit too, even stuff (iPads for example) that isn't normally discounted. I bought an iPod there a couple of years ago - used one of the laptops to confirm it was actually cheaper than Amazon. ๐
