Any of you bought or used a disc brake converter before?

I've seen this one from Brake Therapy but $149 seems a bit steep, especially considering the frame my mate wants to put it on was only £50.

However, it's a steel frame with rounded seat stays, so the A2Z one might be no good.

I've got a Kona Dew ( from 2006? judging by the date of the photo ) and there is a disk mount on the frame.

I'm a fan of the specialized one. It needs a bolt hole on the dropout, then bolts onto the V stud to spread the load. I've drilled one the mrs's frame as it had enough metal in the right area.

Pic borrowed from AdamM IIRC

That's not the base model tho. Mine was, came with cantis rather than discs, and does not have a disc mount on the frame... Also different graphics, so it's a different model year.

nickjb - that specialized one looks good, like the Therapy one - can you remember where you got it?

I bought one from a specialised dealer who had to order it. They've since been end-of-lined. I picked up my other one from the classifieds, here. Once fitted ther's no extra faff removing the wheel, that therapy one looks a bit fiddly.
