Where I come from, agreeing with the scottish tory party isn't a vindication of anything 😆

Aren't there more Pandas in Scotland than Tories?

And the pandas are less interbred as well!

I'll bet the convicted driver would prefer it all to be forgotten. So does anyone have a linky to the original story, please? In the interest of objective study and that, and because it might make a Scots Tory look a prat?

Another one who doesn't appear to understand the meaning of "vigilante" - kind of disappointing from somebody who make his living from words.

"Scottish Tory Party"

Oxymoron like "English SNP" isn't it? 🙂

"Handing evidence to the Police and leaving them to get on with their job" isn't really traditional vigilante activity, is it?

The Batman films would certainly have been a lot shorter and less interesting if it was...

I fail to see the problem. I suspect that if someone had just seen the incident rather than recorded it then there would have been no evidence and the driver might have got a talking to (if that) and that would be the end of it.
If he'd mown a pedestrian down because of his inattention would the publishers and politicians still be leaping to his defence.

I kinda reminds me of the old "they came for the jews and I said nothing, they came for the blacks and I looked the other way, they came for the gays and I did nothing, then they came for me....."

I've had a number of near misses in the car due to morons using their mobiles rather than focusing on keeping their 1.5 tonnes of car in the correct lane.

Why not go one step further and give the vigilantes a % of a fine for motoring offences submitted... a bigger incentive to submit more shit driving clips to the police.

replace "you've been framed" with "You're a shit driver" and offer £250 for every video shown and all referred
on to the police, licence to print money

Blackley's "Vigilante" one - nope still there, I've just replied to it suggesting he gets a dictionary. How do you link to a tweet? I think I managed it just now, but no idea how I did that.

edit: got it https://twitter.com/Mike_Blackley/status/573805147178057728
clear from the timeline which video he's referring to - I presume that as a lawbreaking driver he's terrified of getting caught.

Well as Pickles has announced the end of The War On Motorists today, maybe this is now Conservative policy?

Cameras on cyclists are clearly scaring people who drive badly. They realise they can get caught and prosecuted, having enjoyed so many years of getting away with it...
Attacking the 'vigilante cyclist' is just a way of trying to get rid of what they see as a threat - a pre-emptive strike effectively.

Clearly we need some kind of attitudinal/psychological test before giving out licences if being caught breaking the law is somehow deemed the fault of the person who did the catching rather than the person who broke the law!

As I said on the other thread, there's a much bigger gang of vigilantes around that we should deal with first.
