Travelling down for a long weekend soon, we're doing a Nutcracker loop and Burrator loop Sat and Sun but Friday arrival time depending I'd like to do run out from near Princetown. Is the Coffin trail mentioned in STW any good or will it be a horrific bog fest slog? Any other suggestions?

Depends how much you like pushing your bike. I've done it and wouldn't recommend it.
Dr blackalls and around newbridge has some good stuff. Depending on which weekend I might be able to show you.

As Jam bo confirms that route is not rideable in places & would be a very tough day before 2 more days on Dartmoor.
If you are up for the challenge then good luck, personally I'd give it a miss and ride somewhere else instead.
