Who else is looking at telescopes for sale rather than having a productive day's work?

Yet another thing I don't need, but now seem to want!

Had a look realised that living inside the M25 means it's pointless.

Shame really but there you go.

I had almost managed to put this to the back of my mind... dammit, it is tempting, but do I go for a cheap £120 telescope or jump straight in and spend twice as much......

I was about to spend my christmas money on one but ended up spunking it on a carbon race frame for the road season. I still plan to get one (Skywatcher 150p on an EQ5 mount probably) later in the year. I'm blessed with living in a dark sky location which also happens to contain awesome roads and trails.

I can highly recommend the folks over at http://stargazerslounge.com/ for the STW of scopes and the sky at night.

Mrs Stoner got me a Meade telescope out of the blue for a birthday a few years ago. I've hardly used it but hope to do so much more now that we are miles away from any street lighting.

There's a 9mm eyepiece which is like looking through pyrex, but the 25mm(?) is much better.
