We will be in touch
Just taken my ma's v70 to fill her up. After 5/6 miles put my foot down and at. 4k the engine just cuts out. No power steering. Nothing. Seems fine upto 3k. Any more and it dies.
Thoughts?
Throttle position sensor?
Had a work car astra that did similar.
Do you get any engine warning lights come on when it cuts out? And does it come back again when the revs drop/you take your foot off?
Could be a blocked fuel filter maybe/dodgy fuel pump, or something more drastic 😉
You definitely filled up with diesel and not petrol?
Diesel/Petrol? What year?
Going back a long time there was a throttle body issue that resulted in the car going into limp home mode but this sounds different.
Sounds like fuel filter clogged up. Change it, don't use cheap ones buy OEM, and see how it goes then.
Link to a forum that has been great with any issues I had with my petrol V70.
For your D5 both the v70 and diesel engine subforums have heaps of info and helpful Volvo users.

good luck.
I had similar with my mum's D5 last year - it was the fuel filter.
Had a couple of these with split intercoolers.
Diesel, 52/3..iirc. no warning lights, apart from it tells you parking light bulb out. despite it not being.
Its due a service, so fuel filter check, if not split intercooler.. yay.
It didnt go into limp mode, engine just died. Need to get a reader on it I guess.
I cant do it as on way to whistler so ill pass the info on. Cheers.
Code reader will not show a fuel filter problem.
