My body is currently covered in them.

I really like it... am I alone in this slight perversion?

nope.

I read an article about a rider, and he said he wanted to go to his grave having used up his body, all battered and bruised and broken.

That.

welcome to my world. Picking scabs passes the time at work.

cuts and scrapes make scabs and scars - so what's not to like?

Picking scabs = one of life's great pleasures.

It just means you're using all the trail, and in my case, inventing some new bits!

Getting used to 760mm bars + riding the SS at the weekend with 680's + worn ODI's = grear big blister on the outside of my palm = hurty 🙁

Agree with the OP though, proper injuries, if not debilitating, are quite satisfying. I quite like gettign to the stage where theres a constant level of injurys healing and being 'topped up' by new ones.

Quite impressive one on my back at the moment, missus thought it was a seam on my shirt untill the shirt came off and she realised it was a scabbed over ~3mm deep cut running from hip to shoulderblade!

Use of that word means you definitely don't agree with me.

I'm currently enjoying my grazed knuckles after I veered into drystone wall. Keep on being asked if I've been in a fight 😀

That's right DezB... I look on them as a 'body of evidence', a visual reminder of my excesses and my limitations, a sensual jolt that I've done something, been somewhere, achieved.

I see them as a reminder that brambles should be dying back soon!

Huge congrats to His Awesomeness on completing TP. 😀 Bluddy well done and hope to hear about it, if you can slow down sufficiently!

But I disagree. Currently have cuts, scrapes, aches and bruises too. Add to the list a fracture and haematoma the size of a tea plate. 🙁

The scabs on my face have all dropped off now but am left with a scar. Scabs on my arms, legs and shoulders are starting to drop off - been finding them in the bed, on the floor around the house etc. Pretty gross really. 😯

Chances are I will have some more scars left on my body. Let's face it - on a woman it doesn't look cool. On a woman of my age it looks downright disturbing.

Yashmak it is then.

No cuts, scrapes or bruises, but currently aching in a most satisfying manner after two days walking in N. Wales at the weekend, followed by my first open canoe paddle for 8 years last night.

More please... 🙂

Dislocated my shoulder again this morning, 4th or 5th time now. Completely innocuous pulling a cover from the from of an aircraft engine. Fortunatley, it was only out for about 1-2 minutes, then popped back in whilst I was in first aid room, all by itself.

That was about 1 1/2 hours ago. feels pretty good now, I may make this evenings night ride at Mugdock after all! 😀

Not satisfying at all, unlike picking a scab.

Christ on a bicycle C_G!!

Hope you're starting to recover? I'll accept your situation as an exception to my rule... injuries suck if you can't ride! I'm guessing this means your weekend was a write off... which means my attendance at the re-scheduled one is a silver lining 😀

Recover? Nope, pain is getting worse and industrial-strength pain killers aren't doing much. 🙁 Hospital appt Monday and will know whether I need surgery.

Of course this all happened to the new filly in the stable. 😥

Yeah, weekend has been postponed and you'll definitely be the Most Awesome Guest of Honour. 8)

Anyway, how's about a wee report on TP?

Perfectly normal.

I fell off head-first into a massive gorse bush the other week. Ended up absolutely covered in teeny tiny scabs, looked like I had measles or something. It's good to be able to tell funny stories about crashing, so long as everything important keeps on working well enough to carry on riding.

It came from a commute when some oaf rode in to me. He went down like a sack of shit though, where as my taught, lean frame merely placed itself on the floor. Anyway, point being it wasn't fun riding or pushing the rad past the power of sik. Them's cool injuries
