Me and the missus off there in Nov for a week and fancy a day or 2 mtb'ing. Staying in Uvita National Park. Anyone been and any hints?

Not Trail parks, but proper mountains...
Bearing in mind that I was in Costa Rica (just north of you) many years ago, and I wasn't as clean-living as I am now, but I vaguely recall that there were trails around San Isidro and Dominical - most likely 4wd tracks. A quick google throws up these guys, who may at least point you towards rental bikes or better advice:
(I have no idea what they're like). Also no idea how far San Isidro is from Uvita. Hope you find something - mind the monkeys!
