I've just had to make the call between the 'better the devil you know' and solution that we'd been with for 12 months or running to a 'the grass is greener' solution.
Well within 10 minutes of my new solution being live i'm confident I made the right choice.
Just moved a load of stuff over to Rackspace, they make a lot of noise about their 'Fanatical support' and from my very brief experience so far I've already had to come on the the internet and tell people how amazing they are... I logged a support call, went out for a fag and by the time i'd got back not only had they responded to the ticket but they'd gone ahead and installed the features I was having issues with.

You do pay a premium for the service though.
We've used them for a pretty big project recently and I was pleasantly surprised how well it went. My only issue was the bandwidth between servers - they throttle it back depending on the size of the server so my initial idea of using one big data storage node and a hundred or so small compute nodes had to be revised somewhat. I was running 120 servers at one point. Spinning them all up wasn't quite as quick as I thought it would be but I was probably being unrealistic.
All in all 9.5/10.0
