That's what he does when he's got no reasonable response.
Especially for Tandem.

den - thats the "hidden meanings" in the font shapes and colours - not the simple meaning - red triangle = bass beer.

Ok, so that's what you see as an effective piece of branding - red triangle = bass beer. In a similar vein, you can appreciate the nike 'swoosh' or 'tick' - seeing it without the word 'Nike' alongside it, you know that that shape is referring to a Nike object, and you know that Nike make sports equipment, and have some knowledge about the worth/quality of that equipment. Again, effective branding, regardless as to whether you'd buy the product.

Oh hold on TJ,
I've just read from where Graham quoted this list

Branding means nothing at all to me. I buy based on what things are not on the branding
some of us see the object for what it is not for what it is branded as.

I buy for what things are not for what they are branded / marketed as.

some of us do this. we buy for what things are

there is another way of thinking and working that involves actively discounting the branding and looking beyond that at what it is

I am aware of the marketing techniques - I chose to ignore them.

i don't own branded goods.

marketing only works with the gullible

and asked how you that could be read as anything other than putting across the idea that you felt were impervious to the effects of marketing.

Actually, you haven't answered that point.

By they way, just saying 'yes I have' won't really cut it

Charlie - you need to understand english then.

The meaning is very clear IMO even without the context. I see it but I am able to disregard it

actively discounting
does not mean impervious
I chose to ignore them.

It means they have no effect doesn't it?

But yes, you are right it appears I do struggle with some of the English. What do you mean by Actively Discount?

Are you saying that you disregard it but it does have an effect?

That thread was started by me.

I chose to ignore them.

does not mean impervious

Therefore by ignoring certain things it is impossible to make an informed decision and it is possible to come to the wrong conclusion.

Further to my previous post: I don't know if someone's posted this before, and I'm not going to check. I've chuckled at this a few times in the past. I just checked again, and it's still funny.

Clue's in the link, so don't get all puritanical at me if you don't like it:

I have no interest in all this designy/marketingy shit

however, on the subject of bannings, how do people know that someone gets a ban - did fred email you or is there a list somewhere ?

If there isn't a list somewhere, can we have one ? 😀

Charlie - it means I am aware of the effects and chose to ignore them or intentionally allow for the effects to ensure I make a choice free from bias

Actually given how you have trouble being understood, it would be better if you just answered the questions.

See, 'intentionally allowing for the effects' is unclear to me. Maybe an example would help

no

But surely ignoring something involves behaving as if it isn't there. That kinda means it has no effect. If it had an effect you wouldn't have been ignoring would you?
