Recently aquired some ladders to repair my guttering and thought sod it I will start to clean my own windows (how hard can it be ffs), how wrong was I?
I had the wife and her mate ripping the pish out of me for the smears and general cack job I had done.

What do windowcleaners have in there buckets ? would ask my cleaner but not sure he would tell me as we had to let him go( the ladders won't pay for themselves you know )

Think my probleb was that my squeegee has a sponge attatched so while squeegying suds were going on the glass again.
Should I get a separate one?

or dry the sponge out. Its also a technique in squeegying- you have to do the whole window in one continuous zigzag motion

Quick google has revealed some interesting results, the zigzag motion is known as the S method.
They even have speed cleaning comps where the cleaner soaps with one hand and squeegees with the other = swoon.

B+Q sell seperate squeegee and sponge heads, that can even be fitted to a pole, ace for ppl like me who find being 6 ft off the ground too high (major vertigo)
