I thought for years this was about due for a remake, and for once I'm quite keen on seeing it. I always loved the old one, but even when it was made it looked a little dated. Out tomorrow I think.

Remembering the Original...I think the twelve year old part of me wants to know,
How much tasteful nudity in the opening sequence is there?

I really want to go and see it.

I thought that if I could persuade my son to come along then I would a free pass.

He does not want to see it.

I hope he is not going to turn into a Harry huffta 😆

I dunno, they're gonna have to do something truly amazing to remove those ray harryhausen films n effects from my brain and replace them with something better. Clash of the Titans is proper ingrained in my head as fantastic big style film, that's what I think an epic is, like spartacus or sommat. It has it's own personality. I hope it's good, otherwise it's just another vacuous moneymaker 🙁

but also sh1te.

I think it has the potential to be really crap and disappointing if it hasn't been done well- that's what has put me off Avitar so far (I haven't seen it, and I'm not that it is crap, just that the chances are, I'll be disappointed after all the hype), but I'm living in hope with this Clash of the Titans. Just because it DESERVES a good remake.

No doubt I'll end up renting on DVD.

The review on Empire gave the film 2 stars, out of five, and an additional star purely for Ralph Feinnes. In short...not a good film apparently.

I'd still like to see it though.

original was great - loved all the films from that era - the sinbad films, journey to the centre of the earth etc. but they're the sort of films that you only love if you watched them when they were originally out. Goonies is another - amazing, but if you've never seen it and watched it now you just wouldnt get it

It looks almost as bad a 2012 - the sort of film I avoid like the plague. That said apparently Gemma Arterton looks quite hot in it....

As remakes go, it's the A Team that I'm looking forward to.

Impressive CGI, but I think I found the original scarier, maybe because I saw it as a kid?

Theres a new [url=

movie coming out too, but not a remake its a sequel!

Not a patch on the original 🙂

aaahhh
you can generally judge the watchability of a film by the critics reviews..

My rule of thumb is that if the arrogant self-important pompous little gizzards have in their wisdom deemed it to be shite.. then at least it will be a welcome diversion from the usual schmultz they bore us to death with...

TRON ...sequel .... mmmmm

Not sure if I want to see Clash of the Titans though ... it'll have to go some to beat the original ( in my book )
and I just think it'll be a letdown 🙁

Don't go if you loved the original.

I am of a certain age. I can remember Star Wars and Clash of the Titans as a kid, not the rehashed rereleases.

I just got back from seeing the remake. The story isn't anything like the original, and even the effects are worse.

If you loved the original, keep the memory, buy the DVD and save yourself a few quid. Very disappointed.

Hmm i'd love it to be good, but can't help thinking its gonna be a hollywood big budget cheese factor.

I guess I am just 'over' the big CGI cartoon-style effects. There was some honesty to the stop-go stuff in the original. There's too much Hollywood polish in this one and as CGI effects go, they aren't event the best. You can tell it was rushed to finish.

We were reorganising the living room today and banged 2 paintings together as we were moving them.

That was the Clash of the Titians.

Well I saw it in 3D last night. It was ok. Had some good bits but it wasn't spectacular... A bit of a boys own adventure. Sort of reminds me of Indiana jones in places, only not that good. Nobody will win an oscar. The effects were ok but nothing you haven't seen before and finnes is the best bit about it. Not convinced the 3D added much to it. Sam worthington isn't exactly proving he can act so far... I would say 6 out of ten .. Worth a look but don't expect too much.

I saw it in 3D on Friday night. It was dreadful. 2/5. Some of the best stories ever told mangled together with sequential SFX to try & make up for regular acting and shocking writing. The only redeeming bits were the djinn and Io. Although Pete Postlethwaite was OK as Diktys. If you're going to the cinema go see Kick Ass instead. Go see how to train your dragon. Go see most anything other than clash of the titans. If you want Greek, see percy jackson - far more convincing. A bowl of houmous offers far more Greek entertainment value than clash of the titans.

I reckon in 10 years time this new one will look terrible by the standards of the day while the old one will still look great tbh.

I have seen both Percy Jackson Lightning Thief and How to Train Your Dragon. I enjoyed both but HTTYD was better - in 3D was very good.

i saw it on friday
very disapointing, why they have to make hades into the 'bad god' infact there was enough of the gods at all, which is the entire point of the original that its all just the gods bitchfighting with each other
and finnes wtf was he doing anyway hades was laughable

there were some good bits and boobo the owl makes a brief appearance but even the 3d was poorly executed

finally we come to sam worthington, great thighs- can pull off a kilt but **** me he is a dreadful actor, its like medusa had turned him to stone before the film began

I saw this in 3D last night. It made me realise what a profound, moving and skill-fully acted film Avatar was. 🙂

I saw it yesterday and thought it was utter shite. The only redeemable things about it were Zeus and Hades, although IO was rather hot

I really despair of the film industry these days: it could have been such a good film, in the right hands, but alas it fell into the hands of....well, I wanted to call them muppets, but that would be doing a diservice to the Muppets. Hang on...I'd like to see a Muppet version actually.

Oh, and that guy who played Perseus: Was he in Avatar as well? If he was, he was as bad in that. How on Earth did he become a famous actor?....grrrrrr

Went to see it on Sat, what a load of crap, In was amazed with so many good actors that the film was so bad, can only come down to the screen writing and as far as the 3d, why oh why 10 weeks from the end of filming do you decide to make it 3d, £10.50 to get in and 10 minutes later I was for leaving aqain, what a waste of time, save your money and watch shutter island.

Glad i didnt watch COTT, enjoyed Kick Ass instead but was not what i was expecting at all, very violent indeed, and i kinda did find it a little disturbing that it was all being dished out by a 11 year old..

just to top off my violent weekend i also watched American History X and District 9!

blimey my GF now wants to watch Hurt Locker! i need a feel good film!

Release the Kraaken!

I think Carrera did a 'Kraaken'. Not a bad bike actually, if I remember rightly. Think it was Merida who made the frame.

Haven't seen the original although it has to be better than the nonsense i had to endure last night.

Biggest pile of poorly acted a*se i've seen in a while. And with some very good actors, well except for that Aussie dude from Avatar, he was sh*t in Avatar and he is even more sh*t in this 🙂

Surely Conan the Barbarian is due a big budget 3D re-make. It could star Sam Worthington as Conan, maybe Gemma Arterton as Valeria. Probably room for Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes in there too I'd say. 😉
