anyone have a specialist knowledge of car tyres? need two new tyres for a freelander, the problem is the tyre fitting places can not get hold of the size (215/75R16 H continental contact 4x4) we need for 4-6 weeks (inc alternative manufacturers) any simple solution to this problem?
Pirelli ? Goodyear ? Have you tried online ? I just had a quick look and the Contis do seem to be on back order at some places.
Have you tried Black Circles online? They deliver to your local fitters.
Blackcircles (fitted)
Mytyres
I'll second black circles or mytyres. They can source a place locally to you too. Are you limited to that tyre fitting palce?
tried both of them, apparently it's an odd size and more often a size fitted to a van no one has any idea what to do other than order new ones and wait 4-6weeks. Problem is I dont like the idea of driving my kids around with tyres that are borderline illegal as the weather get's worse
waht about these
or is that tyre available from one of the online places cheaper
[edit] they are slightly cheaper at mytyres.co.uk [/edit]
does it matter that they are not the same manufacture and have a differnt load rating (I think the contis are 107 those are 103)
have you tried a land rover dealer - they normally subcontract work for tyres but may have knowledge of who has stock?
waiting for them to phone me back
This lot appear to show stock

You could possibly try a slightly different size of tyre HOWEVER you'd need to get five and/or pack a bottle of tyre foam if only buying 4.
Use: http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html
If you vary it slightly (I do this) it'll open up different (available) stock.
That is if you really dont want to wait 4 weeks+
If you are really stuck then how about looking on ebay or a specialist breakers for a set of Landrover wheels with the right tyres on?
