So how much am I going to be out of pocket by....
I bought a 2010 (60 plate) Peugeot 308 1.6vti in June for £8,450 with 22k on it. I now want to trade it in at a different garage 6 months later with 25.5k on it against a different vehicle work circa £9k
How much am I going to loose out by? £1k? More?
I would have thought you are going to take a hit of 2K or so

At least £2k.
Unless you are buying another car with a lot of margin in it.
In which case they will massage your numbers to make it look like you are losing less.
But it will still be £2k in reality.
Best advice I was ever given regarding this was by someone in the trade.
Ignore how much you're being offered for your part-ex. Focus on how much cash/credit you are needing to take out to change. Is the new car worth that much to you?
