Hi folks,

Yes, strange one this but can anyone recommend biking brands or usual casual brands that have hats for smaller heads?

For example I tried on a few fox caps and they’re just too big on the top so sits too low down and sticks my ears out.

I have a VANS cap that I get away with but again it’s still a tad big..

Fancy having a couple but don’t want to start buying them online if they are just going to be sent back which can cost as much as the cap in returns costs!

Thanks, don’t worry I’ve had a lockdown haircut so it’s not for that reason. There were days where it was bad to go out on a windy day as my massive hair just took off, not good when you’re quite well receding at 37 😆

I think it's less to do with brand but finding the right style of cap. I also struggle with your issue, especially with trucker style caps and the front being too tall so look ridiculous on my head. I have the single-track one and I have the same issue with that.
I did recently replace my old mountain equipment one that fitted really well with a Montane. https://mountain-kit.co.uk/samples-c12/headwear-gloves-c16/montane-basecamp-cap-ss21-sample-p1011

Good fit for small heads! Look for a cap that has the slightly rounded shape as opposed to the usual style that seem to be modelled on Ant McPartlin's forehead.

New Era caps come in different sizes so you could try them.

Ants forehead 🤣🤣🤣 just reminds me of Bo Selecta!

Thanks, sounds like I’m stuffed unless I can try one on then really as not too many options.
Thanks for the advice though

New era caps, as above. I buy the 49Forty ones. Usually have to order them from the states but worth it for fit.

I almost permanently have a cap on my head when not at work...

If you have a smaller head you need to go for a lower profile cap.

This will help and save me typing:

'47 Brand make nice caps low profile "Dad Caps" too - have a look at their "Clean Up" and "Franchise" models.

I don’t do baseball caps these days, but always used to get the alpinestars flex fit caps in a kids version…
Limited to a few designs, but the sizing worked for my small/medium head (I’m 57/58cm helmet size)

Got a Patagonia cap recently that was too small for me, even at the last hole. I was gutted, was a peach.

Try those.

I don't do fashion caps, I'm not a Yankee that's not my style.

However I do have a cap for walking in t'hills. It's made by Kathmandu and the peak has an edge down the centre so it can fold up and go in a pocket or get tucked in to the waist band of a pack. Definitely smaller than fashion cpas but it's not adjustable, I normally wear a medium helmet. The Mrs has an even smaller Mountain Research one.

So, it's not a fashion cap, and it's not adjustable, so functionally it's pretty pish? 🙂

Call it a fashion cap if you wish, I wear mine walking to keep the sun off my eyes, and my baldy napper from getting scorched. I have no wish to look like something from last of the summer wine.

Have the same problem.

Adidas running caps for me well.

Not sure what size my head is but the m/l fits me spot on. For the more ‘fashion’ based Adidas caps with the more upright/rigid front I have a s/m which according to the tag is women’s size/fit. Whatever it is it fits though.

Very good returns/refunds/exchanges too. I bought my typical (running) size first before realising I’d need to size down. I sorted the exchange online as liked the hat and wanted to at least try the smaller size. Within a few hours of the Post Office scanning the return barcode I received tracking from adidas for the replacement.

So might be worth a look if they have anything you like the look of.

Lerk thank you, I just received an Alpinestars cap which was the flexfit Style you talked about and it’s spot on! Kids size would have been too small But I’m a 55.5 and the medium men’s one is great
