We will be in touch
...I've got an old EOS 5 (not 5D!!!)which I was given a while ago. I'm starting to consider getting lenses for it and see that FD (ie manual) lenses are fairly cheap. Which is great but will they fit?
Thanks for any help/advice.
FD lens don't fit EOS cameras unfortunately. You might be able to get some form of converter but I doubt it's really worth it and they would be mf only
okay. that's pretty straightforward! Cheers 🙂
Canon FD fitting lens were for early Manual focusing cameras, there used to be a adapter that you could put between the fd lens and your EOS body, but you lost efinity focus on most lenses and all metering was done by manualing, stopping down, no electrical contacts on the FD.
The FD/EF lenses were never designed to have any sinergy, totaly different systems.
If you want to use cheaper FD lenses and film again, you can pick up Canon F1's for silly money now.
