We will be in touch
Cleo is a lovely cat who needs a home. She is going to have to go to a cat's home very soon if no-one can, and we don't want to see her put down, which might happen if no-one can take her.
She has just been diagnosed as hyperthyroid, which will cost a few quid in tablets, but she is around thirteen years old so it will probably only be for a few years.
We would take her if we could, but our cat is special needs already and doesn't like other cats, so we can't permanently.
We will bring her to you if you can offer her a good home, and if you can't do it now, we could probably look after her for a week or so.
Please can you help?
What no-one?
We will do whatever we can to help...
I have no idea where you are, but if you're in the South East this place will take her :
And quite frankly if I was a cat staying in Foal Farm, I wouldn't want to be homed - the place is cat paradise imo.
where are you going that you can't take a cat? if you don't mind me asking.
Yep, in the south east and we'll check them out.
Thank you so much for your reply!
" Yep, in the south east "
Excellent ..... Foals Farm is really brilliant. When you go you'll see that if you were a cat, how happy you would be there 8)
@rs - not going anywhere - and if we were we would make sure Chicago was coming with us.
It's a friend's cat and he doesn't care about cats as much as we do, so I'm trying to make sure that Cleo is OK. Chicago is the reason we can't have her, or we would like a shot. Chicago is 16 1/2 years old, diabetic, hyperthyroid and has a heart murmur and hates all other cats, so it wouldn't be fair to her to take on another cat here.
Thanks again, ernie_lynch. Just about to phone Foal Farm. Will let you know the outcome.
Update - having said all of the above, we're having Cleo.
@ernie_lynch - thanks for the tip about Foals Farm: that will be our next port of call if this doesn't work out, but we'll try everything we can to make it work!
Cheers all
well done Julian! I took in a cat who was facing the executioner, and had a very enjoyable 2 years with him before old age finaly got the better of him and his catalogue of disabilities/ailments! Proper eccentric and a real pleasure to look after.
Good luck
Thanks, colnagokid. We're looking forward to the challenge of introducing Cleo to Chicago.
We really couldn't live with the idea of Cleo potentially spending her last few years trying to get re-homed.
Gotta make it work...
Nice one JulianA 🙂
Julian if it doesn't work out with Chicago, then we'll look at providing a home. Our cat loves company, but he may be a bit playful (he's 4) We're in the process of moving house, so if we can have three weeks grace.
Thanks ernie_lynch and Joxster!
You are both stars and we hope it works out, but really appreciate the possibility of finding a home for Cleo where she would be loved and appreciated.
We'll certainly be able to give it at least three weeks to see how it goes...
Do you want our younger (18month old) cat as well by any chance?
The little b**ch has just brought in a dead water rat that looks like it was pregnant. 🙁 She's got 6bells around her collar as well, must be a stealthy little sod!
Cleo arrives tomorrow (Sunday) night! Will let you know how it goes!
She looks really chilled Julian.
Hope it all works out well for her and Chigaco. Only wish we could offer some help but our two cats are completely intolerant of any other cats.
Thanks jova54!
We think it will work out OK as they seem to be getting on reasonably well...
We thought Chicago would be intolerant as well but she seems to be doing OK.
