Rather than leave my critical illness insurance in the bank/pension or pay of the mortgage have spent a considerable part of it on a converted Ford Transit Custom. Any top tips on where to get the best insurance deal? According to the current owners it is registered as a motor caravan.
Cheers
Camping and caravanning club were cheapest when we insured ours last year. (You don't need to be a member for the insurance)
Lifesure have always been best for me (VW T4 campervan)
2015 £208
2016 £237
2017 £247
I got my camper in March. My current car insurance policy runs out in September with Direct Line. I got quotes from all the usual places but Direct line transferred my current policy over from my Smax to the camper for £26 for the remainder of this years policy and i'll transfer over to a more specialist company in September. Direct Line have all the same cover as all the specialist campervan/motorhome policies so just seemed easier.
I'm with performance direct, decent price, fortunately not had to test the service.
Try Brentacre, alway been the best in the 4 years I've had my van.
Saga. Not a joke.
Brentacre. Usually the best for any kind of specialist vehicle in my experience. Been with them for 5 years myself.
Adrian Flux, also good for more unusual insurance requests. Just got a full years quote for learner driver stand alone insurance on our car for £382. Next best was 5 months for £245.
Comfort insurance
Caravan Guard.
Went through all this when I got my van in December (not a full camper conversion though). Brentacre were cheapest and best to deal with in terms of modifications etc. They actually seem to understand what these vehicles are and how they're used.
