Ask if they have a company doctor/ surgery they use?

Lots of towns have walk-in private consultation rooms now - that may be an option for you

Surely it's up to them to arrange it for you?

Any surgery should be able to do this, If you make the point that you are paying, even the dragon on reception should go "kerching". Assuming you are reasonably well the whole thing should take about 5 mins an they usually charge you a ridiculous ammount for this.

Well I've never had an offshore medical at my GPs, it's always been at another medical practice. I'm surprise that they haven't told you to go to a specific surgery. Give them a call to see what they say as it's not exactly your fault that your GP can't see you until the 22nd.

Are you sure it's not done by their doc or nurse? At my last job I had to have one, but it was done by a nurse who visited the offices. It was most amusing as she nearly failed me due to my well dodgy eyes.

Have a chat with your new employer's occupational health department. They may be able to arrange an appointment with an alternative agent.
