Anyone else watching this, I've been blown away by some of the performances, just watched ep2 and I don't mind admitting to welling up at one of the performances

We've watched it - last nights episode was fantastic.

There was one particular "dusty" performance. The judges reaction was wonderful.

Looks it's about to be shown on Gogglebox

Edit - lots of dusty rooms in Gogglebox households.

I'll certainly give it a watch, I guess it has no relation to the film 'the piano'? a very moving and slightly disturbing watch but amazing music by Mikeael Nyman

I tried it but there's 3 reasons why I can't watch it anymore:
1. Claudia Winkelman
2. The judges

It's painful.

+1

Wanted to enjoy it, but glad it's not just me 🙂

Some amazingly talented players though.

Not sure I can sit through the format of a whole episode… but the clip on gogglebox had me in tears. My other half has worked with that girl’s teacher, and says he is kind and inspirational beyond words… all the time.

Was it the teacher in this episode?  He moved me as much as the performance did and the performance is incredible (performance is at 3:40 for the impatient)

Link on thread still works for me.  I wonder if it's a rights issue thing.  Yep, it looks like it's Daniel Bath, there are some wonderful people around

Ah ok, that explains it as I'm in Belgium.  It was a longer form clip of Lucy's performance along with some of the background material such as her learning piano with Daniel. I'm guessing it is just what showed on the program as it seems to have come from the people who made the show

Was expecting this thread to be about a specific key on the piano. Disappointed. 😉. Carry on.

I watched part of the first episode with my wife, who plays the piano well, following the positive reviews. I thought it was very poor for those reasons too. My wife thought the overall standard of playing was dreadful.
