Is it a good idea? Do you have to pay lots of customs tax?

Pay the extra and go for something in the UK. Peace of mind is worth paying for imo. You might pay a tenna more, but whats a tenna for the knowledge that its all good.
Nowt wrong with buying from HK, that seller got a good feedback, I had no import duty on orders of the similar value (though I can't guarantee it for you).
Bear in mind his delivery 'warning', from the auction page "Please note that air mails normally take 15-20 days to arrive. However occasionally and to some countries may take 30 days or more,"
Ultimately if I wanted them & was willing to wait, I'd buy from him, but as per TH for ultimate piece of mind (& hopefully a quicker delivery) you be better buying them 'locally'.
If it's like Deal Extreme, delivery can be anything from a few days to a month!
Paypal's got you covered.Peace of mind is worth paying for imo
Do it!
I have bought quite a bit of stuff over the years.
No problems and luckily no import duty.
that seller got a good feedback,
Always delve deeply into positive feedback. Some unscrupulous sellers only have high positive feedback because they refuse to leave any feedback for buyers until they have received positive feedback first. Ebay know of this scam yet allow it to continue, it's in their interest to have all their sellers looking good. Obviously any feedback so obtained is totally worthless.
You usually hear some borrox excuse from the seller, but we've been leaving feedback on confirmed payment since we joined Ebay when only geeks used it, it's never been in any issue. 100% of our 100% positive feedback was left without fear of reprisal.
I've bought from HK a number of times, but you obviously need to be aware you won't get a warranty, and smaller items (e.g. memory cards or camera batteries) have a high likelihood of being fake EVEN FROM TOP RECOMMENDED POWER SELLERS.
