Anyone know if Bankok is renowned for cheap prices on good quality electrical items, ipods, cameras, laptops etc?

Aren't electronics pretty much all the same price everywhere now? Was in Singapore and Malaysia earlier this year and it was all the same as anywhere else - maybe even slightly more expensive.

Weak pound means theres no savings to be had in my experience. Kuala Lumpar was more expensive than home.

Was there in 2008 and found that the prices were similar to high street here. In Bangkok airport the prices were higher.
Non electrical items are cheap though. Especially t-shirts, beer & food.
