MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I'm currently excavating my half cellar in a Sheffield terrace and am looking for some advice about a) council regs and b) using concrete to underpin the shallow foundation walls.
I'm at the stage where I need to decide whether to just leave it as it is or commit to a bigger and more costly project. I either need a good builder to give me a quote or advice, or someone with a good knowledge of foundations etc.
I'm pretty experienced at building work and haven't done anything daft yet, like digging below the level of the existing wall....
Any advice, suggestions welcome,
Cheers,
Gareth

You will probably need to get a Party Wall Agreement as well.
Thanks aP, have spoken to the neighbour (semi) to tell him what i'm doing but did not put anything in writing, will have a look on the web for info on this bit,
Cheers,
Gareth
