Combination of having watched In Bruges recently and £35 return ferry on Norfolk Line in December for 2 of us plus camper van has got the juices flowing, anyone been to Bruges and if so what were your thoughts? Is there a suitable place to park up overnight within public transport reach of the centre?

I've only ever been there to race (not bikes) and go out in the evening rather than for a cultural weekend(!) but I love it. Beautiful place with good food, beer and chocolate. What's not to like? 🙂

Never camped there (as I live half hour away) but I know where it is & it's pretty well located for your idea....

The ice rink will be open soon too. 🙂

Thats ideal, thanks very much for the info, 20 euros per night including electricity is not bad.

Brugge is marvellous. Been there pretty much once a year for the last 10 years (including honeymoon!) As clubber says, you can't fault a place with history, scenery, great beer and great food. Stayed at Camping Memling once when we still had our camper and it was nice. Took about 30/40 minutes to walk right into town. Also a fairly regular bus and not wildly expensive if you need a cab back after a heavy night on the beer. Nice bakery round the corner for morning bread too.
