Got an under counter (is that the term?) freezer that has slowly defrosted over the last 3 days!

It's at least 12 years old, so I guess it's chuck it away and get a new one time?

Do people still repair them these days, anyone done so?

Get a new one,

by doing so the gas out of the old one will be recycled as will all the steel and plastic,

the new one will be more energy efficent thus saving electric and helping the environment,

the shop that sells it will make some money,

the sales people will be helped to stay in a job as will the delivery people,

Cant loose can you.

Blimey, just looked at the prices, admittedly only on the Argos website so far £200 - £440!

I thought they'd be chaep as chips as they don't need to be finished off in a particularly fancy way. Thet are more expesive that a lof of big fridge freezers!

Get a new one,

You're almost suggesting that the old one breaking down was a good thing. Have a google of the broken window fallacy.

No, not at all, I'd rather spend fifty pounds than 400!

Never had this dilema before, allways used to get vcr's repaired and other electrical stuff but the shops I used have all disappeared!

Is fixing things a thing of the past?
Is it worth fixing when its pretty old?
