Nothing on local news - I'm surprised Stokes Croft has stayed quiet so far.

Whilst out on my evening road ride, 5 riot vans with sirens and escort were making their way over Abbots Leigh towards the city centre, followed by a further 5 with no escort, that was about 7.15pm.

9.11pm: A number of blazes were started by juveniles rioting at a young offenders institution in Bristol tonight, the local fire service said.

My colleague, Beatrice Woolf, reports that up to 10 teenagers at Ashfield set fire to rubbish in one of the wings at about 7.50pm.

It took members of staff about 50 minutes to extinguish the flames, according to Avon Fire and Rescue Service, who were put on standby.

"About seven to 10 people were involved in a riot," a spokesman said. "The prison staff are now dealing with the perpetrators."

The fires were said to be small, with the level of damage done unclear. Some 400 male juveniles aged between 15 and 18 are held at Ashfield after being sentenced in courts across the South West, Wales, the Midlands and the London area.

Trust you to find a bit of news on a young offenders institution.

Now, I know you're trying to imply something, but I am at a loss as to what it could be?

Saw a couple of riot vans parked up on Gloucester Road about an hour ago on my way back from Leigh Woods. Not much to see on Stokes Croft this morning - just a few cracked windows. There was also an unfounded rumour circulating today that someone had lobbed a petrol bomb in Cribbs Causeway. Turned out to be fiction, thankfully.

Thankfully? I'd be glad to be rid of it ๐Ÿ™‚

(said in jest...just in case the cops are about to arrest me for inciting violence)

I have been hearing sirens all day, but drove through the centre at 5pm and all I could see were back to back cars - it was gridlock! Is it always like that!?

Got family who work there. Just want them to be safe.

I don't mind Cribbs tbh, it is preferable to Broadmead.

Was contemplating a lightning raid on Krispy Kreme earlier on though...went for a ride and a pint instead!

Don't say that ๐Ÿ˜ฅ Even though I've never been there, there is a little piece of me somewhere in Cribbs Causeway.

Cribbs is adjacent to the wonderfully named Catbrain Hill.

I like the new foyer. It's well-designed both inside and out. Prob would be a target of vandalism though what with it's association by name with Edward Colston.

I want them to be safe too, which is why I said:
