so someone could deem it to be bullying
An abstract person could deem it whatever they like, would you deem it bullying though?

get over it.

anyone who buys a car that looks that shit is doing so for the sole reason of saying "look at me, i've got loadsa money".

we used to go to some shit club up Epping Forest way when we were younger. our mate, Pissin Rich, would leave the club early and go and piss on the door handles of the most ostentatious looking cars. without a doubt he would have pissed on an X6.

I think he was abused. He obviously wasnt happy at what they said so someone could deem it to be bullying. A group of people giving abuse to a single person.

A group of people were talking about an object, within earshot of the owner of the object. Without actually meaning for the owner to hear.

Abuse?

Pretty much as bad as what Hitler did to the Jews Mike.

Does that mean the thread ends?

Taking the piss out of a car is now as bad as racism? I'm off to report Top Gear...

I asked if talking about someone behind someones back is ok even if it is a topic as bad as racism, ie would it be looked at in a different light. I didnt state that taking the piss outta someones car is as bad as racism.

A racist comment is racist because of the content of the comment. Bullying requires a subject. You can be racist in the abstract, there is simply no such thing as abstract bullying.

to be honest, we used to call him Richie Fingers for the most part on account of his inability to stop his fingers from shaking if someone was watching him skin up, but for effect, there i called him Pissin Rich.

'Pissin (hell) Rich' is what we'd say whilst he was shaking out the contents of a spliff out of a Rizla if we were watching him.

BMWs were one his favourites though.

I'd say it's exactly as bad, except for maybe being worse!

Does that mean the thread ends?

I do hope not.

I do hope the delicate little flower managed to make it home without weeping after that torrent of abuse.

And the driver responded with a V-sign. That is also abuse. In fact, it's a Public Order Act offence. Shall we ask the OP if he was traumatised by it, or if he wishes to report it to the police?

Group abuse individual because he is different to them. Individual hears abuse and reacts accordingly.

Sounds exactly the same as all the other bleeding hearts stories i hear on this site when people have been attacked or given verbal abuse by ferral kids whilst riding their bikes. Only difference is its the cyclists acting like the ferral kids.

Oh and its condoned by the group mentality here so that makes it ok.

Anyway, back to the bullying question.
Yes / no?

Err no. The group's conversation was not intended to be overheard. By contrast the driver directly abused the group, and broke the law in the process. Seeing as you're so concerned about people's feelings, you should be asking the OP if he needs counselling.

cranberry -

MisterGnar - your prejudices are showing.

Perhaps that driver was a doctor, or a manager at a hospital, perhaps a socialist politician - whatever he does for a living, regardless of class he is one of those who are actually paying for the doctors, teachers and fluffy little nurses so dear to us all - contributing to society rather than just talking about it.

So....blue collar workers don't pay taxes?

BlackDog

MisterGnar you sound particularly sad and bitter. The op was immature, I would imagine he's a very young guy, but you've taken it to a level where you really do sound quite pathetic. I feel sorry for you. You really should get on with your own sad little life life rather than getting so uptight about others.

I don't like the x6 myself or any of that type of vehicle, but each to their own. I certainly don't need to feel spiteful or insecure if I see one.

I'm sad and bitter, spiteful and insecure because I pour scorn on someone for buying something I see as pointless, ugly and stupid? The cost of it is largely irrelevant, why cant you see that? it really is the Homer.

I doubt very much that I sound pathetic, I'd imagine to most normal people I sound humorous but to you with your upper middle class sensibilities you probably imagine anyone who would criticize a person with an expensive car must be a jealous scummy street urchin. Not the case I'm afraid, there are many much more expensive cars with presumably much wealthier owners who I wouldnt mock or deride.

I don't like the Audi R8. Does that automatically make anyone who owns one a cock?! No.

Schools went back this week didnt they?

This thread is brilliant! Congratulations to the OP for starting such an interesting debate.

I would spend £50k on a car but it would have to be something really special. Very unlikely to be a new car. In fact, I doubt I'll ever buy a new car as I see it as a waste of money (opinion, not fact).

Ian Munro - is that an Allegro estate?? Now that's a great car! I'd happily spend £50 on one of those. I wonder if I can buy one as my first car...

This post is a bit lost on me. Why would you want to announce to everyone that you acted like this.....are you expecting it to impress people?

Perhaps this is one of those, you had to be there moments!

Oh and hi everybody, this is my first post but I've been reading this forum quite a bit recently since I got back into riding. I've learnt lots from the most parts so thank you everybody!
