Hi, I'm going on holiday with Bike Village in September and then afterwards I'm taking a train from Geneva to somewhere else in France and will need to leave my bike at the airport for a week.

Is this possible and do I need to book and how much is it? A look on the website suggests it isn't possible.

If this isn't an option, is there any good riding near Rivesaltes?

Cheers,

Chris

is your bike in a bag? i always used left luggage upstairs in the train station bit of the airport. haven't been for two years though so i guess things may have changed.

yes, it will be in its bag ready for plane travel back home. Are there just some big lockers there?

there are lockers, but this was left at an office with racks, you leave it and they give you a ticket. I can't tell you price as i have forgotten.

Seems like its 10chf a day with a maximum bag size but you can leave bikes

http://www.gva.ch/en/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-158/710_read-652/

but 70chf these days is about 55quid !

I'm about 15mins from the airport by tram/train if you don't want to fork out that much !

I have a road bike there, I'll probably bring MTB out for winter. Living in Jonction which is handy for the Jura and Saleve.

I've used it last year. It's down the escalator in the train station, on the right. Worked very well, no problems.

Surely in Switzerland you just leave it (tidily) leaning against a wall unlocked and it's still there when you come back.

However remember don't try to collect a bike from left luggage (basement at train station, monster lockers) and run to lift with it on trolley to get plane! I did this in 2009 when Mr MC broke leg, ambulance was late picking us up from Morzine, friends had already taken out bikes to airport, I spritned through airport had to hike 2 bikes onto trolley to discover you can't wheel trolley into lift...too wide, had to drag biks off trolley but then couldn't get trolley into lift with mea nd 2 bikes .. most stressful experience whislt Mr MC lay in ambulance out front of airpot chatting up nurses!!!!!!!!

But in answer to your question, yes oh but they only take Swiss Francs when I was there too .

Thanks for the replies guys, this puts my mind at ease.

Spoon - thank you very much for the offer, I'm not sure of time constraints - I believe I get into Cornavin at 1240 for a flight at 1610. I think it may just be best to leave it at the airport in case there are any delays. Seriously great offer though, I appreciate it.
