Can I please pick the collective brains in the room?
We were riding the 7Stanes last week and having a great time getting my youngest really hooked.

We arrived at Glentrool and took the bikes off the campervan, as we were prepping the bikes ready to head off the old giffers in the coachbuilt parked next to us came back and chatted and looked at the bikes.

I set off around the car park just to check the eldest son's bike was all in order when I heard a shout and the old giffer had driven over my youngest's bike.

Wheel, frame, chainset all totalled - put something of a dampener on the week to say the least.

Called our home insurance but they said no go, have the driver's details - anyone know it I can claim on his insurance?

Fortunately I have enough bits in the garage to get him back on the road, but annoyed at the carelessness of the driver. Am going to drop him a line and explain the cost of the new bits I need and see if he will pay for them, but if not, is his insurance valid for a bike on private land owned by the FC?
Any help appreciated.

He said he could not see the bike from the cab, despite having to climb over it to get to his van.

As Mrs Cat said at the time, "Good job it was only a bike!"
