Still getting to grips with new iPad.

I have loads of music on my windows pc, all of it also on my wife's phone and mine, both android. for new music I really like amazon mp3 as it also sticks it all on the cloud but the app for this is rubbish on the iPad. I want to stick all music in one central place (either real or virtual) that can be access by android and iPad remotely with the option of downloading to devices when required. Kind of like the amazon cloud player but with better iPad app.

Any ideas for this?

Ta

Google Play Music is limited to 20,000 tracks, but is free... Don't have an iPad though so haven't a clue as to its availability on iOS. Or if you want to host it at home have a look at a ReadyNAS Duo from Netgear. Stick a couple of big drives in and you can have some decent backup storage and host your media as well...

edit- it would appear that there is an iOS web app for Google Play Music...

Backing up a little why and where do you listen to your music? Using the tablet as a remote for something may be better.

I use my phone most of the time to listen to music at work, car and out and about. Plan to get sonos for home and would like to use ipad or phone at home. Currently at home just plug phone into amp.

Sonos & spotify premium? Downloaded play lists on your phone & iPad then extra cloud music at home. Handles the sync over WiFi and lots you access local files. Also pairs well with sonos

hmm, ideally would like to avoid paying for spotify, I've got stacks of music that I own and happy to put up with adverts for occasional spotify listening. Will go down this route though if content that it is the best option.

personally id advise going down the nas route as suggested above. all my musics on my laptop at the mo, and played through my hifi system via my squeezebox. ive backed it up to wifes laptop, but when funds permit, ill get a nas for sure.

dont think they sell squeezeboxes now, so not sure if theres anything more affordable than sonos these days, but if moneys not tight, a sonos would be a good buy too.
