MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I've been reading and sympathising with the bad neighbours thread, but how about some balance?
We're in a mid-terrace. When we moved in our neighbour on one side was the village tree warden - she'd planted a hedgerow for us. Our current ones on that side are a couple of young blokeys who party 'a bit' and ride bikes.
Neighbours on the other side lovely couple, Courtney is an old school scrambler riding biker, now 79, still competes in long-distance trials, has just scored us a trailer of top grade firewood very cheap(for the tenth year running), good old country agricultural engineer with some amazing sea-faring tales.
Any other lucky locals?
Ours are great. Nice people, take in parcels for us, helped look for our canine chum when the stupid bitch (completely literal description) ran off.
there was the one standing by her upstairs window in black knickers and bra 🙂
As a Devonshire lad.. I would say that the Cornish are quite good neighbours.. I'm not quite so keen on the English on the other side though..
allthepies, could be good or bad, only 10 stone between the two...
jim robinson - one of my favourites!
i live on a small cul de sac
everyone has lived here long term and all get on very nicely.
all the kids have grown up together and gone thru school together.........and in 15 years never had a crossed word with anyone, so i think all my neighbours are good ones.

You lot decide if that is good or bad
kaesae - I meant it more as a yin/yang thing 🙂
The bad neighbours thread is more entertaining I have to say, in a 'glad it's not me' way

I meant what I said in a, I'm pulling your leg and acting a bit silly kind of a way.
You know a me! Me! ME! sort of way. I would hope there would be good places to live, or I might as well become unemployed again 😯
Not that I have anything against unemployed people, I just try and avoid the whole job centre pretend you really want a crappy job thingy!
I have great neighbours but they have a better one apparently
Wev'e been here since last June & on the Friday night we started to move in, Paul & Lynn called to introduce themselves & asked if we needed any help. I mentioned 'kettle' & within 5 minutes they'd brought a pot of tea round.
Apart from when I lived next to a pub theyr'e the best neighbours I've ever had!
We're pretty lucky with our neighbours here but it seems the people we bought off were universally disliked in the road so I guess we were a welcome change...
Mine are great, they leave me alone I hardly ever hear or see them and when I do it's normally a quick hello. The old boy in the corner flat of the courtyard is like a human cctv camera and happily takes in parcels and brings the wheelie bins back in once they have been emptied.
In the house I grew up in the neighbour was/is an amazing man. He set up with his own funds a work experience centre for struggling young people. He changed the lives of so many people. He got an MBE in 2000 fir his services and accepted it only on behalf of the people he helped. He set up other services in the private sector and made a small fortune, which he gave to local charities. Amazing man who is like an extra grandparent. Never complained about my loud music either...
