I personally loved the Fare dodger one which has just closed and the Spanish holiday one.

maybe I'm just bored at work and like arguing the toss.

For entertainment? the spanish holiday one was good. for being uplifting?
http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/new-bike-build-with-a-difference. there has been some laugh out loud funny stuff as well. I enjoy a good photo / ride report thread as well - this one maybe?

http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/the-ramblings-of-an-old-man-including-a-wee-ride-report

Of course my mighty why marketing is bollox one that got to 1700 posts before the mods got bored and put it out of its misery amused me

The "how do you wipe your bum?" thread (was that this year?)never ceased to cheer me up, so used to have it bookmarked. How's about bumping it so's we can all document our festive movements?

+1 Sierra, that one had everything.

Just had a look at the Fare Dodger thread......that's a horror of tedium and repetition.

Just had a look at the Fare Dodger thread
Was it the one I started? I genuinely stopped reading it after circa the first page.

It seems like all threads have a life cycle. Starts off well intentioned, peaks then descends into bickering until Drac comes along with a shotgun and puts it down.

I'm going to vote for all of Elfins Achitecture threads me.

And the Photos threads with themes..

And the music threads..

The bike stuffs shite.

Oh, the Edinburgh Tram was hoppingly mad, anything with religion in it too..

Oh yeah the 1+1+1+1+1-1+10+10*10 (whateva) thread, that was bonkers.

I'm with Gary and the Stupid Headset question, now approaching it's second birthday.

Best thing about the Asky Man thread was the alliterative summary at the end. Worth the price of admission for that alone.

Definately the adult balance bike one really want to see it finished
Spoons and Tupperware disc brake modifications also kept me entralled waiting for next instalment
Sierra cycling thread for customer service
The chain reaction credit card fraud one I started was not the most exciting but worthy of note for warning the cycling community in general and going way past just this site

the best ones are where people get all uppity and shouty and right-on about stuff or that get locked down, or when people get banned because they said something like they would in real life. I like them the best - the ones where it's like watching a car crash.

Not that you'll change my mind, the Sierra Cycling thread was better than EastEnders. Best thing ever on the internet, apart from Beedogs of course.

I wouldn't want to pick a negative thread, but in terms of outstanding posts for me Kiwidave's long post about his experiences as a tour guide was as good as any magazine article.

I prefer threads like stoners shed/eco-heating-PV-saga and macmoonters woodpile/shed on stilts/log-splitter etc which I have no practical need to be interested in but which make the world seem a little less vile, though I have to battle a certain degree of locational/resource envy.

I have no original thought, but of those mentioned, Sierra Cycling/KiwiDave and Asky Man stand out for me. Doubtless there is a significant bias towards more recent threads - any nominations from January?
