My daughter just said she doesn't like the Jungle Book 😯

Just listened to Superkalifragilisticexpialidocious (suck it up, autocorrect) and I have to admit it's right up there. Turned dinner prep into a proper song and dance number. But I still think Bear Necessities edges the win.

Surely this is everyone's favourite?

Surprised you let your kids watch Mary Poppins TBH,OP.

Daddy is a high-flying banker who employs a FEMALE nanny to look after the kids. WTAF? 😯

Bear Necessities, I Wanna be like you, even the elephants march are all better than anything from Mary Poppins.

Definitely something from Jungle Book, I'll go with Trussst in Me for it's sinister edge.

Definitely the jungle book songs, although my daughter would argue it is 'let it go'

She is only 4 though

How can anyone of the most basically matured mind not smile at this?

"....and that's why a bear can rest at ease, with just the bare necessities of life."

Kryton, you listening?

The song from frozen was wonderful.

But Elton John's circle of life, that's gotta be the benchmark.

Yes,

But Elton John's circle of life, that's gotta be the benchmark.

Another contender. Tough decisions.

Shiny is a great song. I really like Be prepared from the lion king

If I’m allowed a Disney Pixar one I’d have to say my favourite is “when somebody loved me” from Toy Story 2. Just beautiful and works so well in the film.

Especially this version. Don't normally like death metal but this really works. The lyrics work and the melody with the power ballad sections.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen.
A kingdom of isolation,
and it looks like I'm the Queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in;
Heaven knows I've tried
Don't let them in,
don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel,
don't let them know
Well now they know
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care
what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on.
The cold never bothered me anyway
It's funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me,
I'm free!
Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You'll never see me cry
Here I stand
And here I'll stay
Let the storm rage on
My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back, the past is in the past
Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand
In the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway!

A steaming hay-filled pile of meaningless bollocks.

Yes. Yes it is, but don't ignore the deeper meaning of Frozen which is obviously female empowerment, repressed lesbianism and distrust of the patriarchy. Unlike Moana of course which is about finding a wild man to tame... 😈

King Louie / I wanna be like you (oo-oo) is the winner.

But this is also true

I'll go with Trussst in Me for it's sinister edge.

Can we have sexy and sinister.... this made quite an impression on me, seeing them as a teenage boy in the 80's

Moana is the definite favourite in our house at the moment. My 4yo is singing along to the soundtrack pretty much word for word, whilst eating her toast!

I always thought it was funny that one of my favourite songs (Semi-charmed Life, by Third Eye Blind) was used in the trailer for The Tigger Movie, even though it's all about drugs and sex!

Moana songs just don't flow, for me. Tbh most Frozen ones don't either.

King of the Swingers came on the echo, and tbh the sung parts are good but they are interspersed with five minutes of the trumpet equivalent of noodling and what amounts to incidental music.

Great thread.

This is a fave of mine. The bit from about 2:18 where Baloo gets hooked into the beat then joins in never fails to raise a smile

Apologise if its been done but cant see the links from work.

The actual answer to this question is 'Everybody want to be a cat' from The Aristocats.

Link may or may not work but again done 'blind' from work. 🙂

The Horst Wessel song. It hasn't actually appeared in a Disney film, but old Walt was a big fan.
