I know there are a lot of bikers that take camera's about on here.
So, wanting to get best "small" camera for taking as good pics as possible.

Used to have Canon EOS, and I know will never get similar quality, but as close as I can on something that will fit into rucksack, or even pocket. Preferably with as many features as possible, e.g. long exposure possibility, decent zoom.

Budget is low, so probably up to £150ish.

Anything recommended

Cheers,

W

If you can get a Canon S95 (mine was a bit more than that, I think) then I doubt you'll be disappointed. Cracking little camera.

10 Mgapixers on it..... how sharp is that? Saw some go up to 16MP, is it worth getting the higher rating?

The original Canon S90 is a brilliant camera aswell, they are now going on ebay for about £100.

Not really, unless you are going to do massive blown up prints to frame.

Don't get hung up on megapixels, 10 is plenty. In fact sometimes less is actually better, as the physically larger sites on the sensor can give better images at high ISO.

Pretty sure the S90 had the same sensor and not much different to the 95, so good shout!

Yes, same sensor. I think the key diff is HD video on the 95, but not sure. I think the 95 has a very slightly bigger LCD display screen as well and I dare say they'll claim one or two other slight differences/improvements. Key point tho, with these cameras, is the big sensor, which the S90 and beyond, all have (all the rest is just flowery w@nk IMO).

£60 got me a Pentax K100D and kit 18-55mm. A further £60 got me a 50-200mm and a 50mm prime.
Takes rather spiffing shots.

Just noticed a key dif between the S90/S95 and S100, it has a grip strip. I could take the pee (as per flowery w@nk), but it is actually a good improvement, I've always found the S90 a bit difficult to hold in one hand and take pics.

Used EOS 400D/450D should be about that with a kit lens. Job done. 🙂
