We're at the discussion stage on redoing the main bathroom at the mo.
Current Mrs P wants to stay with conventional bath with shower over, I want to change this for a big shower cubicle. Not (quite) room for both. Me, Mrs P, 2 teenage kids in the house; probably going to stay here for a few years. If we change it I accept I'll have to put a bath in if we sell up and move on, but the bath is used maybe twice a year and the shower at least 4 times every day.
Question is can you have a family house without a bath?

No, not really.

Little children do not get on well with showers.

Bath + shower. Because if you knack a knee or foot or something, you have the non-standing option. And you can have a nice soak.

Both... soak in the bath in the evening and wake-up shower in the morning.

Re-fitted our bathroom last year.
Got rid of the bath, fitted a bigger shower, don't regret it at all.
Our bathroom is not that large, removing the bath allowed for some storage space to be built in.

I love a good bath. I've just got a shower in this flat, so go to my folks for a good long soak on a Sunday. I look forward to it all week! You gotta have a bath!

I'd be perfectly happy with just a shower, more room in the bathroom but my wife would say no.

As you state the only issue is resale, with 2 toddlers it would be a big put off for me if I was looking at a house with no bath.

Neither.

turn it into a bike workshop with in built toilet and sink and buy a decent hose pipe with sprinker facility and a paddling pool for bathing
